التفسير الميسر
وما كان إهلاكهم بغير سبب وذنب يستحقونه، ولكن ظلموا أنفسهم بشركهم وإفسادهم في الأرض، فما نفعتهم آلهتهم التي كانوا يدعُونها ويطلبون منها أن تدفع عنهم الضر لمَّا جاء أمر ربك بعذابهم، وما زادتهم آلهتهم غير تدمير وإهلاك وخسران.

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ فَمَآ أَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ ءَالِهَتُهُمُ ٱلَّتِى يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ لَّمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا زَادُوهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيبٍ
We did not wrong them, rather they wronged themselves. Their gods whom they invoked besides Allah were of no avail to them in the least when the command of your Lord came, and they only added to their destruction.
