وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ ٱمْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِى حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ ٱلرِّعَآءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found a crowd of people watering [their flocks] and found apart from them two women holding [their flocks] back. He said, “What is the matter with you?” They said, “We cannot water [them] until the shepherds take [their flocks] away, and our father is a very old man.”

ولما _وصل_ ماء مَدْين الذي يستقون منه وجد _جماعة_ من الناس يسقون مواشيهم، ووجد من دونهم امرأتين _تحبسان_ أغنامهما عن الماء حتى يسقي الناس، قال لهما موسى عليه السلام: ما شأنكما لا تسقيان مع الناس؟ قالتا له: عادتنا أن نتأنى فلا نسقي حتى _ينصرف_ الرعاة؛ حذرًا من مخالطتهم، وأبونا شيخ كبير السن، لا يستطيع أن يسقي، فاضطررنا لسقي غنمنا.
