Family and relationships
She was a Mother of the Believers and a co-wife of Aishah. Bukhari records her giving her allotted turn to Aishah.
The Prophet then assigned Aishah both turns; this concerns a household arrangement and does not remove Sawdah’s status as a wife.

Quranic and hadith references
Bukhari 5212 names her directly; Al-Ahzab 33:6 establishes the wives’ general status.
Her migration and earlier marriage are preserved in biography rather than in that hadith’s wording.
