وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًا وَٱرْزُقْ أَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۖ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
And [remember] when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city [of Makkah] a sanctuary and provide its people with fruits – those among them who believe in Allah and the Last Day.” [Allah] said, “As for those who disbelieve, I will grant them enjoyment for a short while, then I will force them into the punishment of the Fire. What a terrible destination!”
(আর স্মরণ করো) যখন ইবরাহীম (দু‘আ করে) বলেছিলো: 'হে আমার রাব! এ (মক্কা) নগরকে নিরাপদ নগরে পরিণত করুন এবং এর অধিবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা আল্লাহ ও শেষ দিনের প্রতি ঈমান আনে তাদেরকে ফলমূল হতে জীবিকা প্রদান করুন।’ তিনি বললেন: ‘যে কুফরী করবে তাকেও কিছু কালের জন্য জীবন সামগ্রী সরবরাহ করবো। তারপর তাকে আমি আগুনের শাস্তি ভোগ করতে বাধ্য করব। আর তা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল !’
