أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Have you not considered those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Book of Allah to judge between them, and then a group of them turns away in aversion[11].
[11] Referring to the Jews of Madinah who refused to implement the rulings of Allah in the Torah or to acknowledge the Prophet (ﷺ), whose coming was mentioned therein.
(হে নবী!) তুমি কি তাদের (ইহুদিদের) প্রতি লক্ষ্য করনি যাদেরকে কিতাবের (তাওরাতের) অংশ বিশেষ দেয়া হয়েছে। তাদেরকে আল্লাহর কিতাবের দিকে আহ্বান করা হচ্ছে, যাতে তা তাদের মধ্যে মীমাংসা করে। অতঃপর তাদের একদল (তাদের প্রবৃত্তি অনুযায়ী না হওয়ায়) মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং তারা বিমুখ।
