خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ثَمَـٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍ ۚ يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ خَلْقًا مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتٍ ثَلَـٰثٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ
He created you from a single soul[3], then He made from it its mate[4], and He created for you eight types of livestock[5]. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers [in stages], creation after creation, in three layers of darkness[6]. Such is Allah, your Lord. To Him belongs the dominion; none has the right to be worshiped except Him. So how are you averted?
[3] i.e., Adam. [4] i.e., Eve. [5] The eight types of livestock: (four males and females): a pair of sheep, a pair of goats, a pair of camels, and a pair of oxen. See 6:143-144. [6] These three layers: the belly, the womb, and the amniotic membrane.
তিনি তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এক ব্যক্তি থেকে, তারপর তা থেকে তার জোড়া সৃষ্টি করেছেন।(৪) আর চতুষ্পদ জন্তু থেকে তোমাদের উদ্দেশ্যে সৃষ্টি করেছেন আট জোড়া(৫); তিনি তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেন তোমাদের মাতৃগর্ভে: এক সৃষ্টির পর আরেক সৃষ্টি, তিনটি অন্ধকারে(৬); তিনিই হলেন আল্লাহ; তোমাদের রব; রাজত্ব তাঁরই; তিনি ছাড়া কোন (সত্য) ইলাহ নেই। তারপরও তোমাদেরকে কোথায় ফিরানো হচ্ছে? (৪) পৃথিবীর প্রথম ব্যক্তি আদম এবং তার জোড়া হলো স্ত্রী হাওয়া।
(৫) উট, গরু, ভেড়া ও ছাগল প্রত্যেক প্রকারেই পুরুষ ও মহিলা মিলে মোট আট প্রকার পশু তিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন। (৬) অর্থাৎ পেট, গর্ভাশয় ও কুসুমের অন্ধকারে।
