وَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَجَـٰهِدُوا۟ مَعَ رَسُولِهِ ٱسْتَـْٔذَنَكَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلطَّوْلِ مِنْهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ ذَرْنَا نَكُن مَّعَ ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ
Whenever a Chapter is sent down [saying], “Believe in Allah and fight along with His Messenger,” the affluent among them would ask you to excuse them, saying, “Let us remain with those who stay behind[70].”
[70] i.e., the weak, the terminally ill and the incapacitated.
আর যখন আল্লাহর প্রতি ঈমান আনার এবং রাসূলের সঙ্গী হয়ে জিহাদ করার নির্দেশ নিয়ে কোনো সূরা নাযিল হয়, তখন তাদের শক্তি-সামর্থ্যবান লোকেরা তোমার কাছে অনুমতি চায় এবং বলে: ‘আমাদেরকে অব্যাহতি দিন, আমরা (যুদ্ধে না গিয়ে) বসে থাকা লোকদের সাথে থাকতে চাই।’
