It is not befitting of the Merciful to take a son as He is pure of that.

Surah 19 : Ayah 92
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
It is not appropriate for the Most Compassionate to beget a son.
