بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓر ۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَـٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
Alif Lām Ra[1]. This is a Book whose verses are perfected, then fully explained[2], from One Who is All-Wise, All-Aware.

আলিফ-লাম-রা। এ কিতাব যার আয়াতসমূহ সুস্পষ্ট, সুদৃঢ়, অতঃপর (১) বিশদভাবে বিবৃত, এক পরম প্রজ্ঞাময়, সবিশেষ অবহিত সত্তা আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ।
(১) হালাল-হারাম, আদেশ-নিষেধ, নি‘আমতের প্রতিশ্রুতি, শাস্তির হুঁশিয়ারি, ঘটনাবলি ইত্যাদি।
