قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدْ فَتَنَّا قَوْمَكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ
Allah said, “We have certainly tested your people in your absence, and Sāmiri[25] has led them astray.”
[25] i.e., the Samaritan (a man from Samaria), a hypocrite who led the Children of Israel to the worship of the calf, or to idol-worship.
আল্লাহ বললেন: ‘তোমার চলে আসার পর আমি তো তোমার সম্প্রদায়কে (গো-বাছুর পূজার) পরীক্ষায় ফেলে দিয়েছি। আর সামেরী তাদেরকে (পূজার জন্য আহ্বান করে) পথভ্রষ্ট করেছে।’
