وَٱلسَّارِقُ وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ فَٱقْطَعُوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَـٰلًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
As for the thief, male or female, amputate their hands as a deterrent punishment[35] from Allah for what they have done. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
[35] Nakāl (deterrence) is penalization set as an example for others; it is called nakāl because it deters both the perpetrator and others from committing it.
আর পুরুষ চোর ও নারী চোর, তাদের হাত কেটে দাও; তাদের কৃতকর্মের ফল ও আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তিস্বরূপ। আর আল্লাহ মহা পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
