وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۭ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا ۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَـٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
How many a town We have destroyed that were arrogant due to their affluence! Those are their dwellings which were never inhabited after them except briefly[29]. It is We Who were the Inheritors.
[29] By travelers of pagans of Makkah seeking temporary shelter.
আর আমি কত জনপদ ধ্বংস করেছি, যারা তাদের সুখ-সমৃদ্ধি নিয়ে ঔদ্ধত্যে মত্ত ছিল! অতঃপর এগুলোই তাদের বাসস্থান, তাদের পরে অল্প কিছু ছাড়া আর বসবাস করা হয়নি। আর আমিই তো (সবকিছুর) চূড়ান্ত উত্তরাধিকারী।
